Get Set Play at a glance
The GSP platform will be made up of three distinct modules
GSP Arena
GSP Arena has been designed to address all of the problems facing eSports and competitive gaming at the moment, leveraging blockchain technology to bring solutions that previously were not feasible. GSP Arena aims to tackle the heavily monopolized esports community with its predatory platform pricing and open the door to gamers and streamers of all abilities to showcase their talent regardless of experience or social media following. Despite welcoming all gamers, Get Set Play will maintain a fair matchmaking system based on algorithms that will randomly pair opponents for tournaments based on their staking pools. By allowing users to compete regardless of skill, as long as they have $GSP tokens staked tackles a significant issue with existing skill-based matchmaking, which places the great majority of players who are moderate to expertly skilled/experienced at a disadvantage.
GSP Arena will feature tournaments for both users that have staked $GSP as well as for users who haven’t staked $GSP. Users who have staked $GSP tokens will have access to exclusive “premium matches”, on the other hand users who have not staked any $GSP will only have access to “free-to-play” matches. Free-to-play matches will be subject to a participation fee as well as a Get Set Play fee that is 20% of the participation fee, free-to-play players will also be entitled to up to 91% of the prize money if they win. Premium matches have no Get Set Play fee so only the participation fee applies with winners being able to win up to 95% of the prize money.
Quarterly sponsored tournaments will be hosted by Get Set Play, with all gamers eligible to register for a small fee and no further requirements. Gamers can compete against established teams for a share of Get Set Play’s massive prize pool, all whilst showcasing their skills and potentially getting recognized by well-known esports organizations.
GSP Stream
GSP Stream is a peer-to-peer video delivery network built using blockchain technology, the network’s watch-to-earn model allows viewers to simultaneously watch live streams whilst earning tokens for relaying video to other users watching the same streams. Users who decide to opt-in to use their spare bandwidth and computer resources to relay video will be rewarded for their contribution, users from all kinds of devices can contribute to the GSP stream network with support for PC, mobile devices and even smart TVs included.
By implementing a peer-to-peer streaming network, Get Set Play is able to drastically reduce costs on video delivery whilst also being able to deepen viewer engagement and drive revenues. By not needing to shell out for expensive server stacks for streaming, Get Set Play to focus more on rewarding users and scaling revenue generating parts of the business like eSports and streaming.
GSP Stream also leverages blockchain technology to greatly improve on security and moderation of liver streams and chats. Many streamers have fallen victim to large-scale bot attacks that flood their chats with racist, homophobic, and otherwise toxic language, which is often against the terms of service of many streaming services. Because the streamer is typically the one who gets banned as a result of the hate, Get Set Play’s validators will work to moderate chats even while streamers are offline in order to maintain a healthy environment for both streamers and viewers.
GSP Metaverse
Get Set Play is also be building its own metaverse from scratch, it will be known as the “Dome” and will be a space for streamers to share spaces and rooms as NFTs. These NFTs can be utilized to showcase a streamer’s entire gaming portfolio, extending outside of just live-streamed content to include their owned in-game assets, leaderboard positions, brand sponsorship, earnings, merchandise, etc. The space is a blank canvas that each streamer can tailor to their own needs and wants.
The Dome consists of three main parts: streamer room, gamestation, and GSP Hallways. The streamer room will be a large showroom, a place that streamers can fully customize however they wish. They can completely change the look and feel of the room, with a variety of options when it comes to colour, lighting and basic layout. The streamer room will also allow streamers to display their entire collection of achievements, ranging from live streams, in-game assets and NFTs to leaderboard positions on GSP and total followers/subs.
The gamestation room will also be a large showroom with each room containing four gamestations. Each gamestation will be NFT in itself, just like the streamer room can be fully customized. Gamestatoins will be able to display live stats/scores, a calendar with upcoming matches, live streams, and total earnings. Finally, the GSP hallway will connect a user to each room, with the hallways displaying information about the Get Set Play platform. Within the hallways users will be able to easily see displayed information on live matches played, live matches streamed/live streamers, leaderboards, and upcoming eSports tournaments.
